The Two Sisters Tract was generously donated to the Trust by the original 'two sisters'. Elaine Mrosek and Josephine Krikorian, in the year 2001.
The preserve consists of two parcels, one eight acre parcel and one 32 acre, split by the Air Line State Park Trail (an old railroad bed: the route was known as the "Air Line" ). A path leads from Rt. 6 across the eight acre parcel and to the Air Line trail. Across the railroad bed, a steep staircase leads to the start of the loop trail on the larger parcel. This trail is one mile; for a longer walk, park at Rt. 203 and walk north along the Air Line .86m until you reach the Two Sisters Tract. If you walk the loop and the Airline Trail the total distance is 2.6 miles.
Visitors are advised to wear blaze orange and take precautions when hiking during hunting season. The surrounding properties are actively hunted.
Going south, the Air Line Trail leads past another land trust preserve, the Windham White Cedar Bog.
For more information about the unique features of these parcels, please consider purchasing a copy of the Joshua's Tract Walk Book, for sale from this website, at the Trust office every Thursday during office hours, and at local stores around the area.
